At the end of June, Rodborough Cubs teamed up with Minchinhampton to join hundreds of others at the Evolution activity camp in Cirencester Park. Members from the two packs split into 3 teams to take on a day of activities and challenges, including caving in bus, an inflatable assault course, a Christmas tree relay race and blind portraits.
The first night's excitement and early sunrise meant sleep was in short supply but a fully packed day, great food and enthusiasm (fuelled by plenty of sugar) carried us through to the next evening when exhaustion finally hit. Sunday morning brought more fun with an awards ceremony, magician, animal and craft tents and a fun fair.
We also took advantage of the occasion to invest Thackerey and officially welcome him to 2nd Rodborough Cub Pack.
We hope the Cubs enjoyed the weekend, and a big 'thank you' goes to the Evolution team of organisers, leaders and Explorers for hosting a great camp.
"This camp is awesome. There's no one here to tell me I can't eat two massive cookies and a milkshake!" - Minchinhampton Cub.
"They had an absolute blast and want to go again next year!" - Rodborough parent.
