Rodborough Scout Group provides scouting to boys and girls aged 6 to 14, in and around the Rodborough area of Stroud.
The group is made up of three sections:
- A Beaver Colony (for young people aged 6 – 8 years)
- A Cub Pack (for young people aged 8 – 10 ½ years)
- A Scout Troop (for young people aged 10½ – 14 years)
Each section meets weekly during term time and is run by leaders who are supported by parent helpers. Our leaders plan a vibrant termly programme which is fun, challenging and educational. There is something for everyone – whether it be an opportunity to make new friends, get active, develop new skills or camp under the stars.
Rodborough Scout Group encourages young people of different ages to interact and learn from each other. Participating in community activities and helping others so that we can make a positive impact on the local community underpins all that we do.
We also offer opportunities to 14-18 year olds to be Young Leaders in some of our sections.
The group sections meet at the Rodborough Scout Hut, Tabernacle Walk, Stroud, GL5 3UJ.
The scout hut can be found opposite the Rodborough Tabernacle United Reformed Church, under the ‘Little Chapel’:
The group is extremely fortunately to have an excellent activity site, just a short distance from the Scout Hut. As well as a shelter, composting toilet and running water, the site has plenty of open and wooded space. Perfect for outdoor activities such as shelter building, outdoor cooking and camping. The Activity Site can be found just off Kingscourt Lane, a short distance south of the junction with Tabernacle Walk.
